Well shoot, just when you think you know what you are doing mother nature throws you a curve ball. I have never had a problem with my 165 gallon- but these small tanks are very picky.
I did a 10 gallon water change on my 29 yesterday and added some reef chemicals as per their recomendations- spec. iodne and stron, and molly (to help with the zoa's), and a touch of kordons- actually, a bit to much kordons (the cap came off and did a triple dose accidentally). However, to my dismay, my anthillia (sp?) was down for the count this morning, and my lobo isnt doing well. Any recomendations, I really love the look of the anthillia, every thing else is doing really well, from hammer, duncan, acans, leather, elegance, s/t plate, candy cane, shrooms, monti, gorgs, even my 7" maxima clam and all zoa's & paly's are doing fine. It's just the lobo and the anthillia.
Are anthillia/lobo always so touchy, what can I do? Perhaps another water change- using premixed salt water, or, just wait it out and see what happens???
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Anthalia is about the toughest thing I know. If I knew the mixture you used to kill it, I'd use it in my tank.

well this is a deep purple anthillia, and is slow growing, but as above- it's all i did. I just put some garclia algae in the tank, I hope it will absorbe the problem- I am going to do a 5 gallon r/o water change as the sg. is 1.025 at present- it was 1.022, perhaps this will help also.

Anytime ive messed up with adding to much of anything i have found best thing to do is dilute it right away. Not wait! i added to much salt to my ro water for a water change and didnt give enough time for it to disolve and killed a couple things. Noticed it in the morning at already to late. But got it fixed and everything else seems fine now.

well I always use a needle wheel pump over a 24 hr period to premix salt water- this has always worked for me. but the chemicals I used- I have used them for years (kent marine) w/o a single mishap, I feel terrible for the lobo, it was doing so well, and now my center peice is well.... looking like epoxy drool. I am really pissed off at myself, I should have known better.
Oddly the hawk fish in the 29 seems to have taken a liking to the garcilia I put in there- he is eating it- LOL, and....irritating me in doing so. [IMG]  On the possitive side the hawk is leaving the clown alone for now. They still havent decided (after 2 mos.) who is boss.
Oh and btw, hawks grow much faster then clowns do.

i used the strontium iodine additives before and killed things off, like.i was taught, dont add stuff you can't monitor. most of the stuff you add is already in the right amount in your salt mixture anyways

+1 on this, i found that the only thing i really need to ad is iodine as it evaporates, the rest pretty much gets added when you do water changes.
