Man wish I had gotten to see this beautiful tank before you took it down.

I don't want to derail the sale thread! Just wanted to show what they did for me. In short though,

Nothing special schedule wise. Just ran 2:1 blues:whites/red/green at an intensity that gave me the PAR I wanted ~300 for 8hr or so depending on how the coral looked.

Really I feel lights are about picking what you think is good looking, ppl make such a fuss about lights and growth and color and love to argue, but if you meet the PAR it's feeding and water quality that really make a difference. I won that contest because I spot fed that coral every night (even 2x) appropriate sized food while keeping water quality up and some nitrate in the water.

Which reef brite, tech or xho? What size are you thinking too? I can't wait to see the look of both of those!

You will definitely like it. What made you decide 6 bulb over an 8?

 

Space to get in the tank easy without taking off the light since I wanted the reef brites and not just the t5s I went with the 6 bulb which with the reef brites its the same width as the 8 bulb.

So I should be able to get in and out of the tank easier but a may have to take off the reefbrite from time to time

 

I would take the last Hydra; just don't know when I will be able to get over to your area with the holiday season and all. I'm in the Iowa City area.

 

I'm interested in 1 of them if you need to split
