40b glass critter cage. Use as sump??? your thoughts.

I wouldn't chance it if it was me

 

There is a reason those are typically deemed for critters and not fish. The seals typically are not as good as a fish tank quality glass cage

 

I am using one for my QT tank. Have not had any problems so far. (5 months). I only have it about 2/3 full and put a piece of plywood under it. Mine is in the basement above a floor drain just in case, I know it is a risk but so far so good.

 

I wouldn't try it. It's a bad idea from all angels. Just sell the two tanks and buy a 4 breeder.
