one thing most people underestimate is how powerfull they are. Take it slow, I have seen so many corals burned at 50-60%

truth be told, sometimes I just smack it on the bottom of the tank a few times & that gets it going.
Sounds like they may be cavitating. real common problem with them. Sometimes you have to play with them a bit to get them going
