That may be your best bet for a commercially made stand. I bought it and it's okay, nothing special by any means. Or you could make one or have one made for about the same price, if not cheaper!

Looks a lot like the RC template except the inner 2x4s in the corners should not go all the way up or down. They are not structural, they are for screw support, they should be short of touching the floor or the top cover. The reason is that you want to avoid the possibility of that vertical member being the support point. All the load is supposed to transfer directly through the outer 2x4s on all 4 corners from the top frame to the bottom frame and be evenly distributed.

Tomato or Tamoto its all good. Stopping them short or keepting them long is all allright. Been building them both ways for 25+ years. Never had a issue with support or load support transfer to bottom. Whether its the bottom frame via screws or 2x4. Unless your talking over 55gal then your looking a inner and outer support. When you put the two 2x4 together they act as one anyway and support the load down to the next frame. It would be like using a 4x4 at this point and notching out for top and bottom frames.

I think RC copyed my stand..lol

Good luck and if you need any more ideas let us know.
