Which pump?

    All,

I am looking to setup a 120.. I am going with the DC Jabeo return pump. I think it was recommended to go with the 3000 for the marineland perfecto single overflow tank but I also want to run a manifold that will power a gfo reactor, carbon reactor, biopellet reacter and possibly coupld dump into a fuge. Would I be better off going with the 6000? or 12000?

I have the 3000 pump by a different manufacturer and probably a similar drain setup. The 3000 is great for a return (I only run mine at about 3/4 speed, but the drain can handle 100%) If you are going to run other equipment off of it, I'd go bigger. You can always turn it down.

I just bought the 6000 from coral haven. Haven't had a chance to set it up and play with it yet though. Joe has one running on a frag tank their and said he was pleased with it.
I would say go at least to the 6000. You can always run it on the lower speeds to get your flow where you want it. The 12000 might be overkill, but if you ever plan to upgrade or change your system the larger pump may come in handy.

I think you need more pump/head pressure if you're planning on a manifold. I see the pump can be varied but my guess is that you'll have it at full output wishing you'd gone with a different pump although at nearly 800GPH it should do fine on its own to run the tank.

I like having the head pressure as I can add additional items if needed although my pump uses 185w compared to significantly less for the Jabeo.
