whats it called

Ive been sitting here for an hour trying to remember what the item is called that you use to look down at coral from the top of the tank, that floats.

 

Bashsea has them: Bashsea I-SEA coral viewer impresses

 

Top down porthole . Avast marine makes one and I think eschopps makes one also

 

Or u could cut a 4inch piece of round pvc. And silicone a clear piece of acrylic on the bottom and trim.

 

Sounds like a cool DIY meeting

...Weldon16 works here too, after the adhesive sets trim the acrylic with a flush trim bit in a router.

 

If you look at my thread with the pics of my 150 that's how I took the top down pics. I took scrap piece of acrylic tube just bigger than the lens on my sony alpha camera. Used acrylic solvent cement to glue a piece on the end then flush cut it with a router. Can stick the entire lens of the camera under the surface of the water now for great pics!
I also wrapped the tube with black tape to prevent light glare from the sides.
