It took a couple of months but I finally can call the tank upgrade a success. All livestock is alive and accounted for and corals are looking happy.

    Here are some pics

I placed the sand and a small amount of water in the tank last weekend. I wanted to let the water clear, and the dust settle prior to moving everything over.

[IMG] This was about 24 hours after dust storm, talk about panic in the middle of the night. Although I thought I rinsed the oolite sand well enough, apparently I was wrong. I had the other tank half torn down, when I moved a rock wrong and completely clouded the water. I carefully and blindly moved everything over, taking care to do my best not to crush any corals. I moved the fish into the cloudy water as well. This was the worst part of the move. I was certain there would be casualties.

We started the move Thursday Night. The dust cleared well enough to Aquascape on Friday. By Saturday all was well, and the water really cleared up. My big purple tree coral is the only thing not looking good right now. I had to cut it loose from a rock it had partially attached to. I also had to break the large rock it was mainly attached to, in order to get it to fit in the new tank. It was the first coral I bought, and I wish I was smart enough not to attach it to the largest piece of liverock I had, lesson learned.[IMG]

Thanks, but it was far from smooth. I may be understating my overall lack of preparedness. It was a much bigger job than I anticipated, and I'll leave of at that.

Thanks everybody, I'm really happy with the way it is shaping up. Now I'm just hoping the new sand doesn't cause a diatom bloom.
