Anyone up for a get together next Sat the 20th?  Thinking about taking down the Ferarris tank next weekend.  Got a new plan in place also.  Need some strong backs to get it off the wall and all polished up.  Anyone got some Novas Polish?  The plan is to get it down, cleaned up, re-plumbed, and back on the wall in one weekend.  Then Ive got all week to fill it up and mixed with salt then if all is well another week to add the goodies.
    Anyone want some cichlids?
    Josh

For all of those who are willing to help, I will be out there bout 9:30 - 10:00 at the PIPAC center. We will start upstairs in the restaurant and after we get the tank down we will be in the basement shop area. If you get there in the morning you can use the main entrance and take a right to the restaurant. If you come later when we are downstairs you can walk around back and find the overhead door. Knock hard and we will let you in. If you have any ?s give me a call 404-2477

So you were gonna skip work to go work for Darren Beck for free?  Sort of ironic.  /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/hehe.gif

Well I would have still worked the hours, just on a different day.

So how did the tear down go?

We got the tank down on Sat and cleaned up pretty good. On Sunday when we were putting it back up I was horrified to see a small crack in the corner. Craig had some weld-on on hand so we got it fixed (I hope). I could actually see the weld-on getting sucked into the crack. Now we have just been spending way too much time with the plumbing and other bits and pieces. I got the lights figured out today, now just have to get them all wired up. What a pain to get everything to fit on a curved canopy. Hopefully in the next couple of days I will fill it up for a test run, then drain it, and re-fill with RO. Maybee by next Mon Ill have it ready to mix with salt.

Where was the crack? Can you put a acryic patch over it to reinforce it?

Hope the crack was fixed, that could be a headache. Atleast the tank is acrylic.

Are you going to post any pics of the progress? /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/smile.gif

Iff I had a camera and knew how to post pics I would. This would be a great build thread. I filled the tank with tap water today and everything is water tight. Whoo Hoo!! Now my dad just needs to finish the plumbing and we can give it a test run.

The tank is up and running now and I must say it looks awesome!! I would sincerely like to thank those of you who helped with the transition. I know this is worthless without pics and I will try to get some up soon.

    Yup,
The rocks are in and I put five fish in yesterday. Kind of funny, they have ten feet of swimming space but all five are still in the same spot they were yesterday. They look perfectly happy just not comfortable enough to explore there surroundings. I was able to put six 48in bulbs in and it its about 10x brighter then the other bulbs. I used three 14k ice caps and three ATI blue plus. Its looks sweet. Ill probably put in an order to get some more fish next week. Probably Reefs2go if anyone is interested.
