I purchased a 1080p camera to stream my fishtank. I now have access to check in on it wherever i have computer or phone access. Live video! It also has a mic and speaker. Especially useful if you want to tell your dog to get off the couch while you are not home but not so useful for fish. Here is a sample of the image quality and i can zoom in. This camera was already zoomed in a bit to frame the tank but i can zoom much closer. You can zoom directly from your phone or pc. It is mounted on my ceiling in my basement. The screenshot also shows the software interface. uploadfromtaptalk1440892428890.png

Nice job, that's good quality video! I've heard of this being the new trend with reef keeping lol so when you get an alert from your apex saying something isn't right, you can get a visual of what's happening with/in the tank. You have night vision on the camera too? :D

Yes it has night vision with enhanced infrared lights. I am not sure how they will work yet but i am curious to try them out tonight. I can't wait until someone asks me to see my tank and i can pull it up on my phone and just show them. I can also adjust my Hydra 52's and reduce the blue and increase the white making the image even sharper. I just tried that from upstairs. I am having some fun with this.

Can you post a link to the product? This would also be helpful for when you're away and have someone else maintaining and you need to instruct them.

Our dogs lay around all day in the same room as the tank so I could totally mess with them

This is just one of the options available to stream wirelessly without using your computer. The IP cameras will connect wirelessly or via an ethernet cable and many have their own proprietary software/app. I went with this brand as i can later add a smoke detector that will give me updates or a thermostate that i can control via the same app. There are much cheaper units out there that will work. This was plug and play and took me 2 minutes to connect it to my router and sign into the webpage.
