Something stung me...owww

Anybody have an idea of what may have stung me? Did a tank transfer yesterday and woke up to some pretty good pain. Dont remember brushing anything, its on my inner forearm? Cant find any similar pics on the net and heading to dr soon, which im sure the will have no idea

got a rather large shot of antibiotic friday afternoon + 30 days of antibiotic. should take care of it.
figured something like this could happen, just not this bad lol

I've had more than my share of swollen hands from bristleworm fibers/etc, but that is a whole new level. The dark veins are very concerning.

How did they treat you, and what was the conversation like with the Dr?

 

antibiotics took care of it. initial sting spots still there so I have 4 scars on my arm to remind me to wear gloves when doing a big transfer like that again.

dr didnt have much clue to what bacteria it would be but knew it was something nasty that was spreading into my bloodstream from seeing the streaking along my veins so didnt want to wait for oral antibiotics, the large shot of ab right away probably stopped the spreading. first dr was calm and helpful, second dr the next day was freaking out.

after a bunch of research i did, pretty sure it was mycobacterium marinum. can be very bad if untreated. glad i went to the dr. woulda been a big deal if it made it to lymph nodes or heart area.
makes sense, looked identical to pics i was seeing and would be consistent with kicking up all the nasty crud thats been buried for 6 years under/in the rock. something stung me and bacteria got in.
