For anyone that has anemones, or kept them in the past:  What has your target salinity been for your tank?

I was curious because Live Aquaria recommends a range of 1.022 to 1.025 on quite a bit of livestock. Originally, I tried staying right in the middle of the range, but have slowly increased to 1.025 after some reading. One of my 8 bubble tips has started showing actual bubble tips now and no other tank parameters have changed.

When the topic of salinity has come up on this site before, it seems that most members recommend 1.025 to 1.026. However, as you mention, Liveaquaria, Bluezooaquatics, others recommend a lower salinity. Even the guidelines for Reef Crystals (1/2 cup salt per gallon of water) will yield a salinity of about 1.024. I have recently kept my own tank at 1.025 for quite awhile and the fish / corals seem to do fine. I don't have an anemone, so I don't have experience there....but...my conclusion is that the animals must be able to adapt to a range of salinity....I think with a lot (if not most) parameters in the tank, stability and consistency seem to be the most important.

I keep mine at 1.026 and have 7 anemones (3 RBTA, 2 mini-maxi carpets, 2 rock/flower anemones) in my tank...aiptasia not included... :) They all seem to be healthy and happy.
