This is my 150 gallon sps reef. Its only been up a couple weeks and i still have kinks to work out. I cannot get my vho's to fire and likely need a new ballast, so they are still sitting on top of the canopy [IMG]. It is difficult to get good rockwork in a 150 gallon because the front to back dimension sucks big time, and its soo tall. I do like what i have come up with and my fish seem to find the small holes and tunnels.
The room is also a red and white coral theme. I did the painting since i could not find anything i liked to buy. I hadnt painted since college so i was outta practice, but im pretty happy with how everything has come together.

Looks good! I like the rockwork. Were you able to balance those stacks or did you zip tie or otherwise connect them? I know I would end up with an avalanche if I tried stacking that high!

That looks awesome Lindsay! Things look a lot happier in the new tank! I don't know how you fit so much in your 75!

Treeeeeeees? They are supposed to be gorgonians =)

I bought the system from AJ and he did the stain on it, which is so well done!

The rockwork was a nightmare and i still need to secure a few with some putty and superglue gel blend.

Im super happy the way it looks. It is perfect! I do wish i had the 180g dimensions, but, ive made the best with the 18 inch depth.. which was the same as the 75 gallon. I did lose a lot of corals, mostly lps, in the transfer due to a poorly set up temporary tank that i neglected. I look forward to this years springfest so i can get a few nice pieces again. But, i had so many frags crammed in the 75 gallon that once i moved them over they all now have just enough room to grow into small colonies.

I also got a few of my dream fish... I am waiting to make sure they survive to talk much about them, but ive added an Achilis tang, clown tang, and Zoster butterfly. I just got them a few days ago so i am still worried about them being long lasting. Hopin for the best!

Thanks for the nice comments... makes me love the tank all the more.

Also, i have a Majestic Angel that has behaved himself. Ive wanted one for 10 years. Having him and having success feels like a huge accomplish to me. I also have 2 aaaaaammmazing pyramid butterflies. Love them!

That is my old tank.  I built the stand and canopy too.  Your rockwork is amazing.  At first glance I didn't even see the overflows.

did you stain it yourself? I left it unfinished so the new owner could choose the color.

Rockscaping is by far my faaavorite thing to mess with. back in the day, my boyfriend would get mad at me b/c i changed it so often.. which then caused the sps to grow slower due to changes and not letting corals get settled. Hopefully i will be satisfied with how it looks now and just leave it the heck alone! i have some work getting my kangaroo pumps going and get my dosing schedule worked out. I look forward to the tank stabilizing and things growing in!! Im soooooooooooooooo excited for Springfest!!!!!
