Peacock mantis shrimp tank

hey guys I would like to share build we have going on with all of you I just purchased a peacock mantis shrimp for my dad for Christmas he is currently in a 14 gallon biocube we are currently getting him a bigger tank because he came a lot bigger than expected. I am gettin him a new 32 gallon biocube I think or maby a Nuvo 30 we have had him 3 days now and have had fun with him so I wanna share tank updates and feeding videos with you guys.

He has been doing really good. I will post pics when i get home and a more detailed update is there any way to upload videos? i have awesome feeding videos.

He love crabs I’m gonna post video of feeding to YouTube and link it two here today or twommorow.

 

For anyone wondering they have to eat every other day they have to use there punchers at least once a week or when the mult they will not come back so that is why he gets a crab once a week and silver sides every other day. They are not scary as people think they are they are very intelligent they will get two no you. I hand feed him silverside he touches me and never has punched me. If you have any questions let me know I Will gladly answer them.

 

I didn't know it was a "use it or lose it" situation with their clubs. That's really interesting. How large is it? Do you know if you have a male or female?

 

The coloration on him is amazing. Does it greet you at all or is it fairly cryptic?

 

Not sure if it is male or female I will look up how to sex them I’m interested now. It is around 5 inches

 

In a way I do think he greets me every time he sees me he pops out of den and looks at me he is very interested in cats as they also are in him. I’ll have to take picture but they will look straight at each other cat will follow him around tank. I have a older picture from when I first got him where you can see all his color on his whole body.
