You should do a web search for Reviews of the Odyssea lights. I don't own them because, after researching them, decided that any cost savings wouldn't offset the likely aggravation.

I've heard on RC that they've come a long way and are a lot better quality since the days of their burning fixtures. Some people did a par test and they were pretty decent. They've put better fans in them to keep the fixtures cooler so they don't burn up now. I'd look locally for a used setup of better quality before getting one though...

What size tank are needing them for? I had a 72"3)250 mh and 4)96 cpf and the bulbs were good for about 4 months before the alge started growing. I think if you opted for some better bulbs you'd be ok, but then you have another $210.00 plus the fixture.

Try catalinaaquariums.com. I got a 4x54 watt t5 fixture from them for $169, solidly built, has worked perfectly.
