    Hello all,

I'm new to the site. My buddy said I should join up because I'm wanting to start up a decent size saltwater aquarium. I know I want to have corals, so I know that needs better equipment. I was just wanting to see what some people had around the quad city area. I was thinkning of a 55 gallon, but anything would be good enough. Plz let me know of any info. Anything can help. Thanx

we have a buy sell trade forum. What you are seeing are peoples signatures. Basically they are describing their tanks.

Welcome - I would highly suggest something wider than a 55 gallon tank. A 75 gallon or 90 gallon is a perfect size to start with. Anything much smaller is hard to keep stable for a beginner. You will want something that's at least 18" wide so there is room for rock & corals to grow.

As a tip - Always research before you buy and make sure you use RO/DI water (Reverse Osmosis / Deionized).

Thank for the info Lee. I was wanting to start with a 55. I'm just not sure what to look for equipment wise. I would like to just buy a whole set up and replace items if need be
