I won't be able to make it over until my cousin gets back in town and gets his dog that I'm watching. Not really sure what time that will be.

Are you trying to plug the apex directly to your laptop? You still need to go through a router as far as I know. Apex to router, and then laptop to router.

I am in no hurry I will be home all day. I have a wireless router/modem it does both. I also tried to use a netgear specifically reccomended for apex classic and it connected to my network easily but the apex still will not

I stopped over and was unsuccessful in getting anything working. We can't even get the thing to see any kind of Ethernet connection.
Plug a cable in that is working fine for another device and there is no change to the Ethernet status port on the unit. Just the solid orange light. I'm pretty sure even if nothing is configured correctly this turns green when plugged into a good connection. I'm not sure it's a network issue at this point. Everything we found online about no green light on the Ethernet port, but a good status light on the unit points to cables, or the port itself. Corrosion/bent pins etc.

I had to hook my apex directly to my router. It kept losing WiFi signal. Is it the classic apex or the new one?

    classic.
We were hard wiring through a router.

So you think the port is bad maybe? Might have to call customer service.

Mine does that once in a while out of the blue. I have to reboot the Apex with the Ethernet hooked up to it to get it to recognize the connection when that happens. Also, once you get there you might want to download and use the Apex browser utility to get an initial local connection with your laptop through your network.

Ok, sorry you didn't get it to work. If one of the guys cannot help you (fast enough for you;))you can always contact Neptune Support to set something up for a TeamViewer Meeting. Then if one of the guys does help you before your scheduled support meeting, GREAT! Then you can cancel with Neptune. If that doesn't happen, at least you will have a meeting scheduled :D You'll get it done. Hang in there!
