Need Help!

I
need some help with my Kenya tree coral. It is taking over my tank. I have
given a lot to the local high schools and the local pet stores are not
interested in them. I no longer have a rock scaping. It is a Kenya tree
scaping. Any ideas would greatly be appreciated.

In my personal opinion would be to get rid of it all. It just too hard to control. What I would do is get some kalk or pickling lime and make a paste, and start targeting them like you would do with Aptasia or mojano. I have used this method with mushrooms and Xenia when they started moving into areas of my tank that I didn't want them too.

 

Pull them off and throw them away. Kalk the little stumps that some will leave when pulled that way they don't come back.

 

I use a chainsaw to get rid of trees. This may or may not work on Kenya trees /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/wink.gif

 

I would like some trees let me know I'm in cedar rapids

 

Just watch your pH when using kalk paste.....do some every day, vs all of them in one day, or you may see a big spike in your pH.

I have had the same trouble...they spread WAY too fast. The best advice I got was from Bill (fishbrain) which was to use cutters to take part of the rock at the base of the tree. So just pull / rip the tree and then cut into the rock a little way....works like a charm.
