Anyone know what specific type of plastic is used for all our marine pumps/fans, output spigots, etc?

HDPE is used quite a bit.

High density polyethylene, for those unfamiliar..

Not entirely sure. I think bulkheads are usually abs plastic. Plumbing is typically pvc. Not sure about materials in pumps and similar products. I would guess it would be similar to an abs plastic like material.

Looking to 3D print some stuff?

Cool. When you get it figured out you should make a thread on the project.

Talk to Ashton about this, he's done a ton of 3D printing and testing

I know there was some talk about avoiding PLA since it essentially breaks down in water. However, I know RHF at one point had some pretty extensive threads about this being incredibly slow and not harmful in a reef environment. You probably want to avoid any colors though.

I know that Vivid Creative Aquatics 3d prints their random flow generators. You should see if they list the material on their website!
