Im staring a 40 gallon breeder right now I have just the live sand and water in it. My question is, I have 40lbs of "Nature's Ocean" bio-active live sand in it right now (nothing else) I want to put 20lbs of "Nature's Ocean" bio-active live argonite over top of it. Can you mix the two? Is that a bad idea??

    nickbuol Here fishy, fishy, fishy...

Depending on how long the first bag of sand has been in there, you may have some bacteria die off when you add the additional live sand. At different layers in the sand, you get different bacteria. Other than that, you might get a "layering" look by the different color/size of the sand, but that would be it.
