    This looks to be the newest technology in reef lighting.

    Some quick info on this LEP lighting:
    290 watts power consumption
    180% higher PAR values than 400W 10K Metal Halides
    Dimmable: 20-100% power
    Long life: 6 years bulb life at 12 hrs/day
    Less heat: relative to LEDs

    I could see my self getting a couple of these fixtures to go over my 125 in a couple years(Hopefully bigger tank by then!), but at $1000 per fixture, I just can't afford the initial investment right now...

    hopefully the price will come down a lot in the next few years. Will be nice to see how the technology advances.

    Ya, they've been working on this tech for a good 3 years now I think?
    I think I saw a slashdot article 2-3 years ago for it...
    Don't forget though too, I think they said the material inside it burns at like a bazillion kelvin or something crazy...
