I really hate to do this but I had a mushroom a few months ago attach to one of my zoa rocks and since then its turned into about 6 mushrooms and taking over my zoa. If I remove them they will grow back in more. What's the best way?

You just about have to cut off part of the rock.

Is there something to inject them with to kill them?

I would cut them off as close to the rock as you can and then cover what is left on the rock with kalk past

I literally scrubbed the blue mushrooms off of a rock with a wire brush, like, a grill brush, and soaked the rock in fresh water in pitch dark for 2 weeks and 1 1/2 years later.....blue mushrooms are back.....insane....remarkable.....forget about it lol

Heavy dose of kalk paste with follow up treatments as needed.

lol just about! Nah I exterminated a huge colony on that rock, probably 20+ individuals and when I noticed them growing back after so long there were just 3 that had popped up and they were small.

I know this would be abnormal conditions, would cooking the rock cure this and other issues, Aptasia, mushrooms, Zenia, Kenya Trees....?

based on my experience...I would venture to say no lol

But it's worth a shot if you're already doing it!

Usually just to culture it after it's been "killed" or tortured. If you say soak it in fresh water, or dry it out there is going to be a considerable amount of cells/bacteria/meiofauna dead inside of it so rather than starting a tank with a large amount of nitrogenous waste, having a HUGE ammonia spike, and then dealing with the excess nitrates in the display system itself you keep it in an isolated system. There you can boost the temp and speed up the process by cooking it at 85 degrees or so. The enzymes the bacteria rely on will begin deforming and stop working at an ideal speed beyond 90 degrees. But in this way you can essentially cycle the rock in the window of 2 or 3 weeks whereas it may have taken you 5-6 weeks otherwise. It can significantly reduce the amount of pests introduced to the system too, I just don't think mushrooms are going to respond to much other than drying! Or very extended fw soak.

i've heard people using the majano wand on mushrooms, but I don't know if that would work for you or not.

I had a majano wand, and while I tried it on mushrooms, it wasn't very successful. I bought it to get rid of Anthelia, but it was not successful. I guess it's good at what they say it does, but Maybe not so good at what I hoped it would do.

    You could...
    Laze them
    Try injecting with kalk
    Try injecting with H2O2

Also had luck with Aiptasia X. Hated to do it but they can reproduce rather quickly.
