I don't want to scold you on the 10gallon.....but I do want to add my input.

The 10 gallon is way too crowded. Your fish are going to be stressed out in that small of a tank. Stress can/will cause an ich outbreak. I'm thinking if they already have ich, they will have a hard time recovering from it if they are all stressed out in a small tank.

Instead I would consider getting/borrowing/buying then returning a big rubbermaid tank (50 gallon) for your QT tank. Also if you are going to QT I would consider using ich treatment instead of hyposalinity. Things can go south very quickly if your SG fluctuates even a little. (I hope you have a good instrument to test SG if you are going with hyposalinity)

So thats why dinner was canceled. Sorry about the tank and having to tear it down. If there's anything I can do, please let me know!

Well I have a 20 or a 34 or 54g I could use, should I at least do the 20? I have a FW decoration in there and they are hiding except for the clowns. I have 2 clowns, a 2-3 inch coral beauty, 2 in blue tang, firefish and the betta. Do you really think for the 2 weeks its that bad? If so Ill switch, but when the hypo is done they are moving to the 34 or 54 till the DT is OK. You also think I should do the copper? I have Cupramine but no test kit. I live in the sticks too so I cant start that tonight.  thank you for your help!
tonight the clowns showed signs and never did before, the angel, firefish, and betta never have. Blue tang has, big suprise there.
also I have a refractometer  Vital Sine
any reason not to try the hypo first? copper scares me.
    edit again: thanks KYlie!

I would use the 54 gallon myself. Bigger the better.

As for Copper treatment, I would not hesitate to use a commercially available ich treatment if the fish are in QT. In fact, most pet stores, to my knowledge, treat their tanks with ich treatment constantly.

As long as your corals are in a different tank, why not use copper? It works.....

A refractometer will work. Glad you are not using one of those crappy ones that cost $10.00
