Had a heater go bad this morning the wife  called me and said breaker was tripping....so she looked into one of the baby clownfish tanks and seen sparks from a one of my 300watt heaters [IMG] anyway the water smells a little it is a 150 gallon system with a 30-40 gallon sump with tons of live rock for the 400 clownfish babys. Should i do a 30 gallon water change??use carbon filter?? will it hurt water quality?? Thanks

Carbon certainly can't hurt...and a water change should be fine too. I can't think of much else that you can do to help in a situation like this...just hope that nothing leached out of the busted heater. Good luck guys!

Do the 20-30% water change and add carbon.  I have a new Magnum filter you can use.
