Group Thermometer

    I noticed BRS released a new thermometer to use to calibrate heaters and thermometers. Is there any interest in making a club purchase so we can check it out as needed to calibrate our systems? Was thinking we could manage it similar to the PAR meter...

    Not a bad idea. Wonder what it costs to re certify it. Looks like that is recommended every 2 years.

    Yeah that's a pretty cool product. I would expect the re-certification should cost less than the probe, maybe $20 + shipping or something. I asked on the BRS site.

    I think that having 1 or 2 of these club-wide would suffice, it's not something that anyone should need more often than once or maybe twice a year. Good product!

    If this is the VWR 23226-658 ULTRA Thermometer, it is available for less ($68.04) direct from the VWR website. Re-Calibration cost starts at $56.01 and depends on the type of calibration.

    For the cost to calibrate, you can almost get a new one. I may buy one just to satisfy my own curiosity...
