well.... i figured its about time to post some info on my 120gal. i upgraded this tank from a AGA 65gal. i loved my old tank but unfortunately ran out of realstate in about a year thanks to sone and robin! i started the 65gal with a pre-made sump, HOB overflow box, and super skimmer 65. as i grew in the hobby i realized how planning and buying the right equipment the first time around will save you money in the long run. here's a pic of my old 65. RIP!!!!

not many corals in it when that was taken, but it was so full of rock i couldn't stick my hand in there( which i did far to often) without running into something!

Out with the old, in with the new!

I went with an AGA 120gal because i always like the dimensions, it had built in overflows, and was 50% off....so you can't beat that. i wanted the 120 to be my dream tank. i may go bigger later on but for now i was happy with the size. i also didn't want to buy equipment over and over again....so i decided to do everything right the first time. i was able to reuse all of the rock from the 65 and only have to buy an extra 30lbs. or so. for flow i went with a vortech mp40w (which i love) and a mag 12 for return. im a believer in little flow through the sump. skimmer is a reef octo extreme w/ sicce. the sump is pretty much a skimmer chamber, cheato tumbler, and return chamber. simple is always the best way imo. stand is AGA stand and canopy was built by adam at A.E. i stained it myself (first time for everything) so its a little mismatched but o well [IMG]

the lighting is 2x 250watt 14k pheonix's in lumenmax elites, with 2x 54w t5's as supplements. i love the spread on of the lumenmax pendants, just wish there we more bulb choices for DE lol.

Nice job on the aquascape, Joe!  Also your setup looks very clean and well kept.  Please continue to update your thread with plenty of pics as your tank grows out; it should look very nice! [IMG]

Hey, in your sump, how do you move the water from the taller tank to the shorter? Hole drilled that we can't see? That project is up next for me (sump) and I'm gonna rip off your design.
