Im fairly new to the aquarium hobby and just accquired a new fluval edge 6gal. I want to make it a nano reef and would like any suggestions as to what kind of fish i should stock it with. another concern of mine is that the lighting for the tank. it comes with 21 led's at 7600k. im afraid this isnt going to cut it for any type of photosynthetic marine life. is there any way to beef up the lighting in this fluval system?

I too have a fluval edge, and am going to be selling it. Too difficult to maneuver. There are some great looking setups on nanoreef.com. Looks sweet as all get out in my office and get lots of compliments. I just had some coral in it but for a beginner salt tank - probably not the best route to go. Keeping in mind each time you place your hand in the little open it displaces the water and out it comes over top. You usually have to do a water change if you plan to put your hand in it...water evaporates quickly too. It's not impossible, you just have to stay on top of water top offs, water changes more frequently due to small volume, and really stay on top of your water parameters.

Thanks for the tips i appreciate it. Did you upgrade the lighting in yours so you could keep the coral?

Mine was the older version that came with crapy lights...don't recall what they are anymore. I ordered some LED replacements and have those on there. Coraline is growing well on rocks and parameters are stable. Corals appear to be okay....but my emerald crabs (2 of them) won't leave my corals alone. They will be moved to the big tank when that gets setup.
