Feeding Time

Let's talk about feeding the fish. So you grab the frozen food out of the freezer walk over to your tank break a couple chunks off drop them in the tank and watch them eat Like usual than move on to the next tank and do the same thing again. Than its off to the fish that are in qt in the basement than you break off a little chunk and feed him or her than you set the bag down to put nori on the clip and move on. Than when morning rolls around you check your sump and feed the fish that's in qt flakes than you look over and their it is a brand new bag of rods reef frenzy sitting their from the night before because you forgot it after you put algee on the clip. What a good way to spend 20 dollars.

But how does it make you feel would you be more made at losing a $100 at the casino or leaving a $20 bag of food out. I'm going with the food in expecting to leave the $100 at the casino. Lol

 

Yes, leaving food out is more excepting than the casino. I have had bad experience with that too. Lol. Just not fair!!!

 

I have done that too! Anymore I break off what I am going to feed the fish, I often mix different types of frozen food and put it in a specimen cup with a lid. Then I put the frozen back before I leave the room and I go my first tank and put some tank water in, let it thaw some, swirl it together and feed the fish. Sometimes I do a larger amount and I put the container back in the fridge and pull it out for another meal. I found I have to put it in a cup or I will forget and leave the frozen out. Now if I forget I am only losing a specimen cup with a days worth of food in it.

 

I use a plastic condiment bottle to mix my frozen food with water from the tank - I never drop something frozen directly into the tank.

Now, there have been times where I've forgotten that there was a water/food mixture still in the bottle and it has sat for a few days...

Yeah...that's pretty nasty.
