Just curious how often are you feeding your Tangs seaweed? I was thinking every other day or is that not enough.

That's about what we do. Would like to do daily but every other day is about what it ends up being. Seem to be fat and healthy so I assume it is sufficient.

That's about the same for me. 3-4 times a week.

none of my tangs will touch the stuff. I have a purple, a yellow, and a yellow bellied blue tang. I use (or try to) use Sally's Seaweed Salad (Green Marine Algae)

I have never seen a tang turn away seaweed. I feed mine also ever other day.

Fish don't get too much form the seaweed, its mainly filler, I feed my tanks a strip every two or three days and emerald entrée is mixed in to he general food as well. I use two little fishes brand and alternate red and green. Mainly because I bought a 65 pound bag a year a go of each for like 5 dollars (it wasn't 65 lbs just a ton)

Tangs are heavy eaters and graze all day long. Tangs are herbivores and need to eat algae in some form! Fish may not get much out of Seaweed, but Tangs need it to be healthy. Other food has it in it and they can get it that way, but seaweeds and other algae need to be feed to them in sheet form or in there diet some where.

Sounds like you have it covered now. Proper diet is the most impotent thing.

I agree with Kyle... Tangs eat nothing in the wild except for seaweed/algae. You don't see them scarfing up shrimp or other things in the wild which tends to be what aquarists feed them. They need to be fed correctly and often or they will end up being malnourished and could end up with problems such as hlle.

Try a little garlic on the seaweed... Guaranteed attractant and helps build immune system!

I think once they "figure it out" they are more likely to go after it. A square of seaweed hanging from a clip isn't exactly the tangs natural way of foraging for greens.

Yeah but tied it to rocks and hung it from the clip
