Will colored fake plants meant for aquariums harm a saltwater tank? Trying to get a consensus of what people think.

    I don't think so

My pastor has a neon orange aquarium plant his daughter bought him and someone told him they thought the color would leech out. It was bought at a fish store and hasn't been put in. I can't find anything negative online about fake colored aquarium plants.

Probably not. All colored plastics leech eventually but its effect would be minuscule in the short term.

Did you mean in the long run?

Seriously doubt it will cause a problem

No, I just mean in the short term the leeching would be so slow if there is any that it wouldn't have any acute harm. Over the long term it might leech out the color but either way I don't see it being harmful.

I used a bunch in some nursery tanks for some baby banggai for something for them to hide in without any problems. I did run a little carbon in a reactor just in case.
