My understanding is that these are accent lights only...they do not provide the full amount of light that you would need to keep corals.  These supplement your regular lights, not replace.

    I have 3 strips on a 20 Gal tall. (a white 8000k a blue and a half and half)

They are just supplement lighting. I do have mushrooms a candycane and a favia in the tank. I do not keep up with good water chemistry so can't say on growth and color.

Rapid led offers a complete dimmable LED kit to fit in existing hood for 130. They also have a basic LED kit for 110.

I threw a stunner strip in my stand for light on my sump. Works good. Dont think itd be enough light for display though, as everyone else has said, its more of a accent light.

I have a blue and a ultra violet.
The blue will be getting put over my sump in the future, it doesn't show much with my T5's on.
I really like the violet on through out the night. It adds a red tint to the hole tank so you can still see what is going on a little.
I really like the violet myself.

Thanks for the replys guys. I'm going to save my pennies and get the kit from Rapid LED.
How important is a dimmer on leds? I seen they had one with a dimmer and one without. Is a dimmer a must have?
