Can someone that has the EcoTech Radions on their tank currently let me know what they think of them? I am looking into buying them for my tank since the Vega’s might not be out until the end of summer. I have read lots of reviews on them and it seems like most people like them. Also, do you think I would be able to get away with just 3 across my 125 gal tank (72”X 18” X 21”)? My tank has 2 support beams that run front to back about 1/3 and 2/3 the way across.

Hey I seen the ecotech radions at macna and the ai lights, I would go with the Ai sol blue. I think everyone is going for the blue look and i am dissapointed with the eco's. They have red leds too witch seems usless and not very pleasing to the eye. The corals don't glow like they should from a light that cost that much.

Mr. Saltwater tank has them on his tank he has a few videos on them and he is only using 2 on his 90 so i would think you could use 3 on your 125

I have the Radion on display at my store on a 60 gallon cube. I personally really like the light, let me know if you have any questions on them or want to come and play with it.

They have great colors and software and build quality, but have relatively few emitters at a useful wavelength. A well built but grossly overpriced product. You will pay twice as much for half the light. Literally. Count the blues and whites, then check out comparable pricepoints. You'll be surprised.

Again, nice prooduct, just too spendy imo. I would think youd need AT LEAST 6 on a 125 to get decent amt of light.

Lol? At least one every foot? I would be interested to see how one could fit more than six radions over a 125G...

Have you seen one in person and used one?  I think from my experience with the Radion 6 of them would DESTROY a 125 gallon.  3 modules would be perfect on a 125 gallon tank.  They can easily cover a 24x24 area, and even at 60% power they are bleaching my LPS on the sandbed of the 24" deep tank.
Growth of my SPS and Zoanthids under the Radion are unmatched in comparison to a 250 watt MH.  I am not sure why they grow so fast in comparison, but im guessing it has something to do with the light.  I am not a expert or anything on lighting, but in 13yrs experience growth is hands down the best I have ever seen.
Again this is just my opinion.  I do agree they are expensive, but in this hobby you get what you pay for.

Personally I feel you get a better bang for your buck with the AI. Although the programing for the radions are stellar I do not feel the red and greens add much for color or growth.

Agreed that AI SOL are at a better price and I sell TONS of them.  However the Radion is still in a league of its own for programming!  Red and Greens I think are what are making the corals grow much quicker, not sure what else it would be.  There has been alot of talk that they dont do anything, but yet no proof.
Ecotech Marine dont mess around when they make equipment.  With that said they took a spectrometer and par meter in the ocean at different depths and took actual readings and tried to match the light to them.  With that there is a reason why the green and Red are in the light otherwise the R&D would not have put them in there.
