Cozumel Diving & Snorkelling

While on our destination wedding trip, the first day turned out to be too windy to do our group sailboat trip so I took advantage and went on a 2-dip dive while everyone else got wasted.

Videos of the first dive didn't turn out that great because I wasn't used to the camera, plus I has mask problems, and that was a deep dive, 87' for me with lots of swim throughs, will have to get those up once I can edit out the section where I switch masks with the DM at 70'.

The first set to get uploaded are from the 2nd dive which is the San Francisco Wall which is right in front of the stretch south of Secrets Aura where we stayed (in fact when we were done, I could have almost swam to shore). My dive max depth was around 60' for dive 2, avg was around 45ish, wall goes down to 400+.

As you can see in the video, the current moves along at a pretty decent clip. Not something I would want to try and swim against. What you can't see in the video clips is anything past about 50-75' because it had been so choppy for a few days. So you can't really see the big sea turtle or the wicked huge grouper or something, at least 6 feet long if not more just hanging out at the edge of visible range.

Well I've done 30 dives in the Bahamas (Bimini area and Andros Islands) and those are hard to beat due to variety and the trip (Blackbeard's Cruises - live aboard a dive boat for a week, all the diving your body can handle). Compared to most Hawaii dives though Cozumel beats it hands down. I met 2 groups have have been going there for 10 to 30 years and come back every year. One group spent 5 weeks there, more than diving but that's what they go there for mainly. I would love to spend a whole week there diving all the locations
