Check Valve

    Need a 3/4" check valve...does Lowe's or Home Depot carry them? Menard's in town here does not have them /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/angry.gifThanks in advance!/DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/biggrin.gif

    You have to watch the check valves from places like that. They will usually contain metal which you obviously don't want in a reef tank.

    Lowes has some that don't contain metal in them unless u already order that would be a good plave to check

    Yes both Manards and Lowes has them in Iowa City.

    Check out flexpvc.com. I used the union ball check valve ($3.59). No metal, and the ball has the added bonus, any biofilm or algae makes the seal better. I have a 1 inch with the 3/4 fittings, but shipping would cost more than the valve itself.

    That is a ball valve which should not have metal in it. Teri asked about a check valve. The check valves I have always seen at the home stores have a metal spring in them to seal them off.

    Yeah I give up on the mobile devices on this site. It sucks when you need to do something and it don't work correctly.


    Here is the correct one, but they are not in all stores it seems and 1" is the smallest I think it comes in. /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/sad.gif

    Have to look close on that, many swing valves use a metal hinge pin
