Bristle worm???

The Phyllodocidae - The phyllodocids are slender errant worms often brilliant green, yellow or red. Most of them live in crevices and under stones. Active predators of other small worms. The phyllodocids are common shallow-water polychaetes commonly associated with hard substrates and corals rather than mud and sand.

 

It knows what your next move is... it doesn't see the benefits of hanging around lol

I just see the downside of bristle worms and im deathly afraid of getting stung

 

if it is any comfort, I have yet to be stung by one in the time I have been in the hobby and working in the industry.

 

Yikes! Lol with me being colorblind my colors are all mixed up. Im pretty sure its not red. Which would be a fireworm. Right? Ive seen some pretty bad pics of people goin to the hospital due to stings.

 

if you are truely worried about it and cant catch it try a arrow crab or a coris wrasse.

 

I have them in all my tanks. I have not seen one in my 220, but I am sure they are in there. I do have one or two in 28g and 4g.

 

Your solution is to get a poisonous fish, then you'll never put your bare hands in the tank anyways. So when you always wear gloves, the bristleworms won't be an issue /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/smile.gif

 

I can attest that bristleworms have earned their name. I have picked up bristles (not really a sting per se) several times - alwyays when moving coral that have one hiding under it (you think I'd learn!).

 

Holy crap I would break my whole tank down if I saw one of those in it, thats creepy!!!!!!

 

I have never tried this but a good friend of mine said to catch them put a shrimp, silverside, or any larger chunk of food into panty hoes. Close it up and toss in tank at night. Take out in the morning with worms stuck to it not able to escape. I have never tried this because I have never had a problem with them. Might be worth a shot if you want them out.
