So there's this little snow storm coming around later this week and I saw this article for long term power outages and fish tanks. Do you guys use any battery backup for your tanks? I know some of you have tanks with lots of money invested in them and I was curious what you use or what you do if the power goes out.

Spent 800 bux on a good generator on the last snow storm. Havnt used it yet but being i have weeks where i spend 1k on corals its well worth the investment.

Yea I've never had the power go out for any longer than 4 hours here in Des Moines. So I'm guessing my fish would be fine for that short time period

I bought a generator from costco 699.00 . It has 9000 watts starting and 7500 running i think. It has remote start to real cool

We have a generator and have used it several times at our old house (used to live on the edge of BFE according to my wife). It was great to have and be able to run the heater, return pump and a few lights in the house. In our new house we plan to have a whole house generator installed at some point but nothing definitive yet.
