The lighting should be sufficient. What kind of powerheads do you have? The reason I ask is because sometimes anemomnes will wander. It will almost inevitably move from the position that you originally placed it. If it happens to be in the path of your powerhead, the end result is essentially like throwing the nem into a blender. The fact that many species will grow and open up will also limit what you can keep in the tank with them.

I have also heard people recommend nems only in "established" tanks. The truth of it is that these creatures have immensely long lifespans in the wild. Most last months, maybe years in captivity. I am not saying they are impossible, but I think a lot of people get into the hobby with dreams of an anemone hosting clowns in their tank. Personally, I would recommend dabbling in some easier to keep livestock.

I dont have any power heads in the tank itself for that reason.
I was also thinking a hairy mushroom might do the trick.

When i got my first anemone i wanted my clowns to host it and was told to put a picture of a clownfish on an anemone on one of the sides of the tank so they "saw what to do" . Everytime i would hold the picture up the pair would run and hide behind the rock thinking a monster clownfish was comming after them LOL. they did end up starting to host it within a week or so. So my advice is if you try what i did then make sure the picture isnt any bigger than your actual clownfish to keep them calm..... thought i was gonna have a jumper cause of the pic.
I got my LTA 4.5 years ago and it was the size of a a quarter and now it is atleast 12-15 inches across and i have moved the 30 gallon tank it is in 2 times and also my lights suck so it must depend on the one you get. Mine is very forgiving atm.

If you are thinking a BTA, wait until the tank is about 6 months old. You will then know how WC's effect the tank, how your lighting is working,, etc. BTA's can grow quite big too. Do you know what to look for when choosing a BTA? As far as clowns hosting in them, I have never had a problem with any clown 'not' hosting. My large Clarkii is hosting 2 BTA's right now (they are within 1/2" of each other). It would be good for you to research before you buy, for the anemone's benefit ;-0) Research WetWeb and Karen's Rose Anemone...you'll learn alot ;-0)

An alternative to an anemone for hosting clowns could be a euphylia - frogspawn, hammer, torch.... they are readily accepted by clowns (ours do) and don't have the mobility issues associated with an anemone - and are easily fragged if they grown too large for your nano. Just a thought....
