I am looking at mounting 3 AIs above my tank. Any ideas for an inexpensive rail kit? Without going to the AI 48" kit?

It depends on how you're trying to mount them, but for my purposes, I've just bought a 3/4" x 4' aluminum bar from Menards (for about $7) and the proper screws for mounting it to the AI units. They have lots of different aluminum pieces to choose from, so you should be able to find something that works.

JB I was planning on running them Front to Back for more coverage, I have wider footprint.

Then do the same thing and just use 2 bars instead of one.

I used Bosch 30 x 30 extrusion with the necessary hardware. I don't have a Hood and it looks like a clean design. If it is not visible I would go with something that is a little less clean since I had about $30 into mine.

I used aluminum C channel for my light rack.

Yeah, that's what I'm using too. I couldn't remember the name of it.

I just got my new black Vega's mounted tonight using the piece of "C Channel" from menards. It was super easy and I think it looks pretty clean.

Storm steel has way cheaper aluminum. At least what i bought for my lights to do my 180. Was about 1/3rd the cost.

Yeah an actual supplier would be cheaper. But for a 4' bar that it typically takes, the difference is only going to be a dollar or two.
I ordered all mine through our aluminum supplier at work, but I have quite a bit of aluminum in my light rack.
