Couldn't fight of the addiction of having one so set this little thing up.
Yes I know it's a salfin but it's small, very small.

That's not right amigo, nor the clown.

Its a nice looking tank, but you need to reconsider your fish choices.

Tell that to fish stores, they have their fish in 5 gallon tanks so when they get that fixed I'll reconsider my fish choices

You're correct that some stores do that, and while I don't agree with it the turn around is usually pretty quick. Those fish aren't there for very long. You on the other hand are housing them. They deserve an appropriate home.

Every store does and the fish they had in their huge tank before it crashed are in tiny tanks for their size.
If somebody wants to pay me double what I paid then sure I'll get rid of them

While yes it is small and you think this is Ok, it's not it actually stunts the growth of the fish if kept in too small of a tank for a period of time. I agree with the other comments regarding the pet stores keeping them in their tanks. They usually have a pretty quick turn around so much different situation then yours. Unless your planning to move it to a much larger tank in the very near future you need to do the right thing for that fish and find it a new home.

    Only if someone pays double

So you don't care at all about the well being of the fish, just your money? Just want to make sure I understand you correctly? I am smart enough to know I can not keep a salfin as I do not have a tank large enough for it. Do your homework before buying any fish. You should always know the what size tank it should be kept it, what other fish it can be kept with along with many other things. I will never understand people who think this is Ok and then want double what they paid? Just fishing to see if we all care so much why we wouldn't pay double? Obviously you have no clue what your doing to those poor fish. This is a great group, if you would have come here first and asked before you spent your precious money every member here would have told you not to get these fish due to your tank size.

Yes I care about the fish but until they show signs of stress I'm pretty sure they are just fine. Nobody at the store asked how big my tank was.
Before I had saltwater I kept two 12 inch long koi in a 40 breeder and they were perfectly fine

Please read. Maybe this will help you to understand what you are doing to those fish... Note the part when they say it's like humans eating healthy. If you eat crap yeah you will survive but you will not live as long or as quality a life.

Wow!! That is a small sailfin.
It would be cool if you document your build and the progress it makes throughout the semester or year.

Do what you want; however, don't post it here and not expect the reaction you got. It's your choice to keep them like that, but it's your choice to flaunt it, too.

Commend the sacrifice to keep a tank in dorms. Should go with a snuggly pair of percs and moonlighting. Set the mood /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/wink.gif

I'm sure he's just incubating the little guys till they're big enough to box w/ the big boys.

I think what you are doing is fine. As long as it is only for a semester or 2. Good luck!
