Des Moines/Ames region - Holiday Party

    When: Saturday, January 28th - 12:30 - 4:00 pm
Where: Jeanette Becker's house - 1630 Greenbranch Circle, WDM

Potluck: The club and I will be providing the main dish - lasagna
Others - please bring an appetizer, bread (garlic :)), salad, or dessert

We will have a frag exchange and also door prizes. I'll post details on the frag exchange - how it works for those of you that haven't done one before.

Later today, if I can figure out how to post an event - I'll put an event posting on the calendar. Please RSVP here if you plan to come (and how many) and what you will bring. Also please RSVP on the event posting - so that I can get a head count, to know how much lasagna to make. If there are any vegetarians that are coming, please let me know o_O..

Let's get the New Year started by getting the Des Moines/Ames region active again!!

I hope you can make it! I look forward to see my fellow reefers and hearing how your tanks are coming along.

I'll be there and I'll bring a meat & cheese tray with crackers. I'll need to purchase a frag from someone as my tank is just too new to have anything. @beckerj3@beckerj3 or @Dave@Dave would one of you have something available I can buy?

Only 6 days until the Des Moines / Ames holiday party!!! I'm going to get with Bud in the next couple of days to get some door prizes from BRS. Would like to have a fairly good count on the number of people that will be attending - as I'm shooting for everyone (club members) to get a door prize. SO, please RSVP above!!!!

@Tamerd@Tamerd - I know that you RSVP'd on the other thread - please RSVP here also.

Shocker: I'm not going to be able to make this one...wife works and kid has a BB tournament across town starting just after noon. But I will drop off the big honkin box of Seachem Marine Flakes for the region!

Hey, I really appreciate that! However I don't have water in my tank yet. If you're feeling generous I could use a little 1" nub of live rock to grind up and seed my old stuff. But definitely no frags. They gun die. :)

    Thank you for the offer!

You could also seed it with sand from some tanks

Sorry for the late RSVP I will come, I couldn't talk my wife into it so just 1. Being new to this can someone give me good advice on transporting a frag from Marshalltown, I don't want to disappoint someone by killing it.

Primarily just have it in enough water and keep it warm. A plastic bag in a six pack size cooler works well - just have the cooler around the same temperature as the water. Traveling from Marshalltown should not be an issue.
