New Assistant trustee - Chris Adams

Please join me in welcoming Chris Adams as the new assistant trustee for the Des Moines / Ames region. Chris will be assisting Justin Schwebke, who recently took on the role of Trustee.


Chris has been a club member for almost 3 years. He started out with a freswhater fish tank, but that only lasted for a couple of months before he decided that saltwater was where he wanted to spend his time (and money). He's been keeping saltwater tanks for a little over 3 years now.


In his three years, he has upgraded from 3 tanks to 2 larger tanks. Originally he had a 27 gallon cube tank, with 2 40 gallon breeder tanks. They have been upgraded to his current tanks. One tank is a 75 gallon reef tank with SPS and LPS corals that has been up and running for about 1 1/2 years. The other is a 65 gallon that was a predator tank (until a most unfortunate passing of the entire tank) and now will be a macro algae and soft corals tank. The tank itself has been going for about 6 months with several remodels and adjustments. It is his current work in progress that he hopes to have presentable by the time of the next tank tour.


When not messing with his tanks, his current hobbies include fencing, reading (especially about saltwater fish/reefkeeping), and of course its football season.


Chris works with Principal Financial Group in the Compliance department.
