Let me know when I could stop by. That would be awesome. I really want to set the tank up right the first time and seeing someone who has been running for a while would be a huge benefit.

PS I can repair scratches on acrylic. Did it on the 180 at Taki, those were fingernail-deep gouges up and down the entire front of the tank from a rock caught under a magfloat. After that, I can tackle anything.

How long did you use the 6ft retro (how old are the bulbs) and does it come with the ballast?

This equipment is not actually mine so I can't say how old anything really is including the bulbs. I would assume the bulbs would all need replaced. Yes the ballast is included. I can get some pics if you are interested.

If it wasn't for the glass chip I would be all over that tank. I would love to set up a 180 when I redo the basement.

At that price you should still consider it. The chip is where I have put a red circle in the picture not lower where it looks like something worse. The chip hasn't lost any glass and doesn't effect the structure. I should try to get a better pic.

The issue would be knowing that the tank wasn't perfect. Good deal or not it would just bug the hell out of me seeing that chip.
Is there any way to repair glass tanks so it wouldn't be noticed? Or would that involve completely replacing that piece of glass?
