Corals

    Was reading on midwestfrag.com and wasnt for sure what they ment.
    LPS Coral
    SPS Coral
    Soft Coral
    Zoas.
    What do those mean?

    those are all types of corals, sps small stoney polyps also known as colored fuzzy sticks are more demanding to keep they require high flow and light and more pristine water. LPS large stoney polyps are much easier to keep and include things like frogspawn, acans, chalices, and brain corals just to name a few. these type require less lighting then the sps and lower flow.

    Now Zoas are the flower petals of the sea IMO, they are pretty easy and grow quickly keep them low in your tank they come in a multitude of color combinations and some fetch a very hefty price while others are very cheap. I like to use them as fillers between coral.
