  1. I’m sorry if I started this thread in the wrong forum. I couldn’t figure out how to start a thread anywhere but here. If I’m in the wrong place, I could use help with this too I guess.

Now for my reason for starting a thread in the first place...I installed a Neptune apex system on my reef tank about a month ago. It’s saying that my PH is reading above 8.4 how do I bring my PH down? Or do I need to? Thanks.

Don’t chase anything for starters. If your tank is doing fine then don’t sweat it. Honestly imo testing pH is not necessary if your salinity, alk, and temp are all good.

It could also potentially that your prob isn’t calibrated correctly.

  3. Thank you, I’ll see about recalibrating the probe.

What's the actual number? 8.4 isn't bad maybe up to 8.6 isn't terrible anything above that could be problematic.. your pH is your indicator for if alkalinity is doing well so you might check your alkalinity as well. What salt are you using by the way?
