So, I was wondering; "Is there a benefit to wave making in a tank?"

Has anyone looked into the wave making pumps and if they are worth it and which ones? Would be interested in hearing what people think.

I would like to do a surge but the location of my DT won't allow for it without having it in the open. I feel that it would help keep waste suspended so that it can get to the overflow and not settle in the substrate or on your rocks.

I have a vortech on my 56 cube and really like it. i switch between wave mode and lagoon. I don't notice any difference in growth or PE from my corals either way so I think the main thing is just lots of irregular flow. I would also like to hear if ppl have experience with some of the other options .

I really like my vortech. It creates some awesome flow. Now I just need to add another to the other side of my tank to really circulate everything around. I really would like to get a tunze nano wavebox to get a nice surge effect, though. I'm pretty sure my sps wouldn't mind it too much either. Regardless, I have noticed better growth from sps with the more flow I get from my vortech.
