    My name is Bud I have had my current tank for a little over a year it is a 150 gallon I just bought and installed my new lights today they are the Hydra 52s they look really awsome I have them set at 50 percent to acclimate them. I figured I better find some people to help me I have never done any corralls or reefs so Thanks now for any help I might need in the near future

    Welcome. Hydra 52s are great. I've been running them for a few months and I have my set at Grean,red,white at 35% and the rest at 55% and they are about 8 inches above the water. Be careful, 52s are strong and will burn coral fast.

    Welcome Bud! We have a nice group of reefers in Central Iowa and the whole state.


    You should definitely plan to try to attend Spring Fest in Cedar Falls - only a month away. Nice vendors and hobbyists, good speakers, a chance to meet other reefers and club members, and a great raffle.


    You should also consider joining GIRS - the Greater Iowa Reef Society. A great group of people. The Des Moines region of the club is planning on a February meeting towards the end of the month.
