Well not sure on the good news yet...but I'll find it. Bad news, about 99% sure that I'll have to relocate for work. Other bad news...no way I'm going to try and move my reef [IMG]
Here's where the advice comes in...what's the best way to go about parting/selling off my reef?
Thinking of starting on Craigslist and doing that then after that opening up and listing here...amy ideas...thoughts....advice would be much appreciated!!!!

Why not start on girs? Give some members the chance to buy before the craigslist random people. I'd start with all living things and then sell the pumps tank stand ext ext after all living things are gone. Just my thoughts.

How big is your tank? If its only 20g like it says on your signature it would be simple to move it.

Perfect! Good...I have 2 weeks to decide on relocation and basically 4 weeks after that. So I have time. Worst part was thinking I would have to sell. Soooo much time....so never getting my money back [IMG]

Any idea how far away you might be relocating? I moved my 20H several times during college. Granted it was never more than a 1 hour move, it was pretty easy. I would think if it was still within a days drive it should easily be done. I actually kept most of it intact, and then filled it about half full of water once I loaded it back into the car and stapped it in..

If it were any longer than an hour or so I would separate stuff out into several buckets and have some new/clean saltwater on hand. Don't let any corals touch each other if they they arent touch already in your tank. For the more delicate things, you might want to bag it or use some tupperware containers to separate it, If you have substrate, leave it in the tank with a little bit of water on top when you move it and try not to mix it up/disturb it.

Leave as much of the corals encrusted on the rock as you can and be careful not to bang them around. If you have sps, you might want to remove it from the rock if you can do it in a way that you can get most of the encrusted base with it. If its still on plugs, just break the plugs off from the rock and put in separate containers.

I'll have to see what's down in St. Louis. [IMG] I would imagine there would have to be some cool stores there.
