I'm trying to get a Berghia nudibranch breeding project off the ground, but I need to establish a massive supply of isolated Aptasia and get several other items. If you have any amount of Aptasia in your tank, please contact me! I will not pay you for Aptasia but:
(1.) I will trade you dry rock of equivalent or close type (Fiji, etc) for densely Aptasia covered rock. But I cannot promise equivalent size or shape. If you like this term, pic message me with your piece & we can negotiate.
(2.) If you have Aptasia in your substrate or Chaeto, remove them to a cup, as I ultimately separate them from the live rock anyways. Contact me to arrange a deal.

(3.) If you donate to my cause I will absolutely work with you fairly when I have Berghia.
If your able to donate items I am in need of the following:
    XL Critter Keeper
    L Critter Keeper
    Aragonite (New or Used)
    Small HOB filter
    Small Protein Skimmer
    20g long aquarium
    Small UV sterilizer
    Float style ATO.
Aptasia X or Joe's Juice (A small amount for containment of potential accidental intros into my DT)
If your weary of donating to me out of fear I'm unlikely to succeed, contact me. I can explain the Berghia breeding process and technicalities to you, you can quiz me, I'll answer your questions, provide you current status, updates, etc!
If you help me, I will absolutely help you down the road! On first availability (estimated mid spring) those who've aided me with this project will be contacted and fairly repaid with Berghia as needed.

I desperately need your help & I sincerely appreciate all forms of interest, contributions, and advice. My success depends on it. I thank you very much.
    P.m. me, or call / txt: 815-520-1896
I'm located in Ames. Thanks again.

Ok you got my interest. I just googled these little things. I have aptasia in both of my tanks. I have had peppermint shrimp before and they will eat it but after the shrimp were gone the aptasia just came back. And my peppermint shrimp would also eat any of my corals that were not the most healthy at the moment. So I have been looking for another option with no luck other them chemicals which I will not do. But my question is this. If I would get one and it eats all the aptasia how do you keep it alive since that is its only source of food??

You can't keep them alive very long without Aptasia because they only eat Aptasia. My advice would be for you to get a pair and let them eat your Aptasia only if you have a problematic, established population of Aptasia. If it's just spotty one or two a week, I wouldn't get them. However I'll say this: Berghia have an incredible ability to track down aptasia, even with high flow working against them. They will find it in the little nooks and crannies of your tank. If you decide to get them, I'd be glad to take them when they've exhausted your population of aptasia. I don't have an established population of aptasia yet, so I would still have to wait before adopting them from anybody.

You could also try rotating them between your tanks if your tanks are tied together via sump. If your tanks are not tied together, I think the acclimation process between your two tanks would very much shorten their lifespan.

I have a 29 gallon and some hob filters you are welcome to however I'll need to check filters before you make a trip down here as someone just gave me four or five of them and I've not tested them yet

The tetras are exactly what I'm looking for and the 29 would make a great sump for the setup. When can I stop by?

You don't need aptasia x or joes juice, just use some kalk powder and mix it with a little bit of water so it's kindve like a cream works the same it's what I use and works great. Save you some money or time on having to get that anyway

Justin I will check my tank tonight and see what rock I can find that don't have any corals on them. I will trade them out for dry rock. My rock is very well established rock also. I know I have a HUGE aptasia in my cube but I believe it is a large rock that has corals on it. But I will check tonight and shoot you a pm.
