I got a couple guys on reef central holding frag packs for me. I don't want them to ship tell the temp is in a acceptable range. These are some realy high end sps and although they would replace any losses i don't want to risk the coral. So what is the minimal temp for acceptable risk? Thanks -Bill

It all depends on the type of box and heat packs the seller is using to pack them in, I have shipped corals when it was below zero here and they arrived down south fine. If they are truly that high end I would wait till spring unless the seller is confident in his packing abilities and heat packs. That said, I have had SPS survive after being in water in the lower 60's but took a very long time to recover.

I'm thinking i'll wait tell it is at least 60 degrees. Spring is only a few weeks away!

I agree with Jeremy!   I buy and ship year round and I have never had any problems.  Common sense would tell them to use heatpacks so temperature really isn't an issue.

And if the seller is not confident I wouldn't buy from him/her again
