What are your favorite reef safe fish that can happily be in a 90g? I currently have a 65g display that only has two clowns, a coral beauty, green clown goby, and mandarin. I hope people aren't bored with this kind of thread. I always find them fun to read.

I am thinking Tangs, and maybe a Flame Angel. I may even substitute the Flame for a Potter's Angel. Sense mySir name is Potter and I think the Marine Betta, Fire fish and I could go on and on. Some one else add some in. Oh Maybe try to get away with adding a Butterfly of some kind to push my luck as if the Flame is not already. lol

What Tangs are you thinking? I want to make sure I don't cramp anyone in the 90g but I also want some more movement in the tank and tangs are sure to bring that.

ever seen a chevron tang? I used to have one quite a long time ago and liked it much more than the purple tang i had

I had a sailfin in my 112 and he was happy. Easyly my favorite fish i have ever had and will get another one when i set up my next big tank. You could start small and they don't go to crazy fast.

I really like the anthias i added to my tank. Nice color and a very active fish. I'm looking to add quite a few more here sometime.

It says a 180 is best for a sailfin. I don't want to cramp anyone and I won't be upgrading until well past graduate school.

Yeah when they get big. IDK mine was happy and free. Just make sure you have wave makers cause mine liked to swim right at it and do flips backwards when it was pushed away. He had a mind of his own.

Mine is very happy i rescued him he had lateral line disease really bad. He also has about 300 lbs of live rock too.

I have a Yellow Belly Hippo, Desdjardini, Orange Shoulder, and Purple tang in my 75. My orange shoulder has the most personality for sure, and is the least shy.

I have a purple tang now too. They are doing good together.

I like my Midas blennies they are really neat and you don't see them as often as most Tangs. They are always out swimming unless the tank is dark. Kinda look like an eel as they swim. The chevron Tangs are really cool but usually really pricey.

If your looking for bottom dwellers I like the hi-fin/rose goby and the yellow headed/pearly jawfish.

I need to get a midas blenny again. I had one at the tank tour but the little guy didn't make it. Had him for a year and he always ate like a pig and had a fat belly but never grew the entire time I owned him. I love how they perch and watch you. I hope to set up both of my tanks close to my desk at the new place so they can get more socialized and use to me

Just curious, has anyone ever had a White Tail Bristletooth Tang? It looks really awesome on liveaquaria. I haven't seen any deep red fish like that.

I have 2 tangs in my 90. A kole tang and a bristle tooth tang. That was the largest I personally felt comfortable putting in a tank that size. Now as far as other fish go. I love wrasse and have like 6 different ones easy to care for and active fish that come in a multitude of colors.

Definitely have to have a blue spotted jawfish. They are fun to watch.

I wouldn't get more than one tang in a tank that size, and make sure it's the last fish you add if you can. I love my Midas Blenny, definitely a favorite. Also, if you have a deep sand bed, Blue Spotted Jawfish are another of my favorite fish, tons of personality. Fairy wrasses are always swimming and have amazing colors, especially when they're flashing. Blue Lined Fairy Wrasses are one of my favorites and easy on the wallet, otherwise there's the Labout's Fairy Wrasse, Solon Fairy Wrasse, Flame Fairy Wrasse, Scott's Fairy Wrasses. I've always wanted to keep a Blue Throat Trigger, they're supposed to be about as reef-safe as a trigger can get. Longnose Hawkfish's are pretty awesome and have tons of personality, might eat small shrimp though if that's a problem for you. Rabbitfish are pretty reef-safe and do a good job cleaning rocks. I've got a One Spot Foxface and it's always out front seeing what I'm doing when I'm by the tank. There's some really cool dottybacks out there, they sometimes get aggressive though. A small school of Firefish or Zebra Bar Dartfish are very cool to see. I've always wanted a Purple Tilefish, I've only seen them in a tank twice, they flash colors dramatically when excited, very amazing to witness. Royal Grammas are pretty popular and colorful.

To sum it up, if I were to add more fish to my 75 now, I would get (in order), a male/female pair of Blue Sided Fairy Wrasses, then a Longnose Hawkfish, then a Purple Tilefish, and possibly a male Blue Throat Trigger. I still want to try another Porcupine Puffer once I get rid of my carpet anemone! I now have a pair of Oscellaris Clowns, Flame Angel, Midas Blenny, Lawnmower Blenny, One Spot Foxface, and a stupid 6-Line Wrasse(that I want to get rid of dearly!).
